Wonderwall challenge 19.1

Mnemonics can help us remember certain facts. For example:

Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain

...helps people remember the colours of the rainbow:

Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo Violet.

Can you create a mnemonic to help young children remember the order of the planets?

Plant Adaptation

Today Mr Chamberlain and Miss Creegan, from St. Mary's, came in and taught us about what plants need and how they adapt to their habitats.
We made models to explain how different plants adapted to their environments. However, we weren't allowed to use any words! Some of the ways plants adapt are: growing long roots to reach water; huge leaves to collect lots of sunlight; being able to live without soil and trapping insects for nutrients when there are none in the soil.
Mrs Irvin is going to put up pictures of our creations tomorrow.

Science - shadow puppet theatre

Last week in year 6 we worked on making our own shadow puppet performances. We have had a lot of fun doing this and have put a lot effort into them because we wanted to make them the best we could for the infants. They will be watching them and voting for the best one to put into the digital media awards.

What do you think?
